Irrational Love

The choice of who we love and how we love is irrational. If you can explain in detail the reasons why you are in love, then you are not in love. When you love someone you give them power over you, power to make you happy or sad, to feel pain or ecstasy. Love makes us do things that a rational person would consider stupid. A man throws himself on a live grenade to save his buddies. A woman endures hundreds of miles of danger and hardship to give her family a chance at a new life. A God willing to sacrifice his only son to redeem his people.

Don’t try to control your heart. Love irrationally.
